"My Uncle Paul invented the boogie board…
But he never patented it, so he didn't collect a dime!"
Welcome to "Behind the Story"

When I was a kid, my friends and I always got into trouble…
THE ZOMBIE CAT is part of my "Groston Middle" series.
It's a short fun book that's suitable for young people (and adults with a sense of humor) ages 10 to 110.

So, how did it happen?
First off, if you know me, I don't really have an Uncle Paul. That's right, I made him up. One summer day I was thinking about how much fun we had at the beach after they invented the boogie board, and I realized that somebody had to invent them… Why not my (fictional) cousin Adam's step-dad?
After that it was just a matter of putting us, along with my older sister, Ellen, in the water, and seeing what happened.
It was epic.

This is one of those stories that started off as a spoken-story, and got longer after I wrote it down. This summer, I've been cutting it shorter, but you can listen to both the audiobook version and an early live performance (on the audiobook, "Summer 2020")
I hope you'll check them out.
